Boo & FlashBorn on August 9, 2017 We began fostering them at 1 week old on August 16. Mae, King Louie II, Lucifer, & Grey line up for nasty food feeding timeThey are all siblings.
Mae was born on March 21, 2016, along with her brother Louie who my Aunt Penny adopted. King Louie II (who resembles his older brother Louie), Lucifer, and Grey (all boys) were born on July 15, 2016, along with "Oreo" who was adopted by my Aunt Penny's co-worker, and Junie/AKA June/AKA June Bug who tragically disappeared shortly after she turned 1 year old. After that, we got all the kitties' mom, Lou, fixed. Sadly, Lou disappeared shortly before our sweet Junie. So that's the family tree story :) |
Grey (no tail) hanging out on the farm with Lucifer (tail)This is the sweetest kitty you'll ever meet!
King Louie IIOne cool cat... But don't try to pet him - he just likes to chill and hang out with you but is not interested in any petting. He won't bite you or anything, he's just a little stand-offish, kinda like the llamas

This looks like GreyBut it could be Lucifer... Can't tell unless you can see the tail/no tail lol Our foster kitty Lulu and her 6 kittensWe took care of them from the time the kittens were 1 week old until they were 9 weeks old. We ended up adopting 2 of the kittens, Boo & Flash. Everyone got fixed and became available for adoption at the Carroll County Animal Shelter.

Our Feral kitties
(Posted 2/13/2019)
We jumped at the opportunity to provide a home for 2 feral cats through Whiskers 'n Paws, a wonderful organization that traps, spays/neuters, and releases cats. They "fixed" several cats in the fall for a family, but the daughter who cared for the cats moved out and her mother had the cats "arrested" a few months later by animal control. Animal control did not have anywhere to release the cats and was going to euthanize them. Cindy Lauer at Whiskers & Paws posted the situation on Facebook and asked if anyone with barns or plenty of land would consider giving the feral cats homes. I agreed to take 2 cats, and Cindy brought them to our house on Sunday, February 3. They are being housed in the big building we just purchased that will eventually be our farm store. To try to keep them around the farm long-term, we are keeping them in the building for 3 weeks and spoiling them. Then, we will allow them to run free around the farm and enjoy catching rodents, birds, and snakes! We will continue to provide food, water, and shelter for them as we do for all of our cats.
The cats are Biscuit (1.5 year old female) and her son Shawn (10 month old male). Below is the temporary setup that Cindy provided for the cats to live in during their 3 week adjustment period.
